What makes the EVOLVE® Laser Treatment for BPH the choice of doctors and patients everywhere?
EVOLVE® is safe. Effective. And offers patients a better treatment experience.
If you were going to create the definitive treatment for Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH) "more commonly known as an enlarged prostate" you’d want it to do more than just relieve symptoms and fix the problem.
You’d want it to be a minimally invasive procedure. One preferred by both doctors and patients. One that uses advanced technology, yet is so simple and effective, it can be done in your doctor’s office or as an out-patient procedure in a hospital. Most of all, you’d want it to be one that dramatically reduces side effects, minimizes your discomfort, and offers a remarkably quick recovery time, all while giving you immediate results.

What to expect during your treatment.
Before starting BPH treatment, your physician will perform an evaluation to see if you are a candidate for this type of therapy. Since every patient is different, the actual treatment procedures may vary. Here’s a general description of what you might expect:
- Before treatment, your physician may give you oral medication to help you relax during the procedure. Your physician may also give you other medications to avoid infections.
- You may be asked to empty your bladder.
- You will be brought into the procedure room, and moved to the treatment bed where you will lie on your back.
- You will be given local anesthesia.
- Once the anesthesia takes effect, your physician will insert a cystoscope through the urethra.
- The physician systematically vaporizes the enlarged prostate tissue until the obstruction is removed.
- At the end of the procedure, the physician may place a temporary catheter to let urine drain from your bladder to a collection bag strapped to your leg.
What to expect after your treatment.
Most men go home within a few hours after treatment. (You’ll need someone to drive you home after the procedure.)
A catheter may be placed in your bladder at the end of the procedure. In most cases, it will be removed within 24 to 48 hours. Most patients experience rapid relief of symptoms and a dramatic improvement in urine flow. This typically occurs within 24 hours of the procedure.
You may experience mild discomfort during urination, small amounts of blood in your urine for a week or so, and greater frequency and urge to urinate. This will resolve over time as your bladder adjusts now that the obstruction in your urethra has been removed.
